Subscribe forms

Every form on the site posts to the same place, set in src/config.ts.

Buttondown

Set newsletter.provider: 'buttondown' and newsletter.username. That is all.

Any other provider

Open your provider’s embedded form and choose the plain HTML version. Copy the form’s action and the name of its email field:

Kit uses email_address, Mailchimp EMAIL, MailerLite fields[email]. Your embed code is the authority: copy what it says.

After signing up

Point the provider’s “redirect after signup” at /subscribed, a thank-you page with three free issues to read while the confirmation email arrives.

Demo builds

DEMO_FORMS=1 pnpm build sends every form to /subscribed and subscribes nobody. This demo site is built that way.
